Activities
Meetings are announced via our monthly email and on our web site. These meetings present an excellent opportunity to ask questions, exchange experiences and learn about the latest developments in global commerce. Our meetings typically include a social time, dinner and a formal presentation. The meeting locations vary between Omaha, Lincoln and other Nebraska cities on occasion.
Workshops & Seminars
Professionals from the international trade industry are brought in several times each year to present in-depth training on various issues. This may include shipping & documentation, financing international sales, product registration procedures, marketing strategies, etc. While non-members are welcome at our events, MITA members always attend our programs at a reduced rate.
World Trade Conference
MITA works closely with other groups in the community including government organizations, educational institutions and chambers of commerce to celebrate World Trade Week each May with a major event on the latest trends in international business. The Governor of Nebraska as well as many other prominent national speakers often participate in this annual event. MITA also marks the occasion of World Trade Week by awarding an Importer of the Year and an Exporter of the Year recognition to two of its members at this program.
