On Thursday, September 15th, MITA will bring you an update on the TPP from the Leader of the Coalition and Steering Committee for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
There are 12 countries on the TPP agreement, and we will focus on a growing trading partner of Nebraska, Vietnam. Vietnam is just one of the countries expanding trade under the TPP with the United States. We will also highlight one of our existing and strongest trading partners, Japan.
Mr. Fatheree will discuss prospects for Congressional approval of the TPP, the opportunities for US companies in Asian markets under this proposed landmark agreement, and the costs of not approving it. In particular, Fatheree will focus on how the TPP can maximize opportunities for US exporters in Vietnam and Japan, two of the TPP economies with which the United States does not have existing trade agreements.
