Navigating International Trade and Payments Workshop:  How to Get Paid Using Letters of Credit, Documentary Collections and Other Payment Terms

Join us for this in-person workshop on Thursday, October 16th, as we learn from two industry experts, Karen Pinkall of FNBO and Brian Gordon of Commerce Bank, on the subject of Navigating International Trade and Payments. You will learn how to get paid using Letters of Credit, Documentary Collections and other payment terms.

With global trade uncertainty and cross-border risk at an all-time high it’s a good time to brush up on all the tools in your toolkit when engaging in export sales. This course covers the full range of payment terms and methods typically used by exporters, and will give you practical knowledge into what is on the horizon for exporters with regard to trade services and trade finance banking. Letters of credit (L/Cs) and documentary draft collections are covered in detail. Global correspondent banking and trade compliance will also be addressed.

This course is particularly suitable for exporters who need to have everyone in the company working collaboratively towards success. Sales, credit, logistics, and even senior management all play a role in getting your global strategy, and more importantly your execution of that strategy, right. This training event is also suitable for those, including freight forwarders and doc prep companies, who are responsible for submitting documents to bank(s) for collection under L/Cs and documentary collections.

The case studies and real live examples that will be covered will provide you with “real-life” situations and allow you to apply the content and knowledge you have acquired during this course, specifically showcasing the logic and ease of trade finance products and which ones to use under various circumstances.

You can’t use a screwdriver if you need a hammer, so it’s time to make sure your WHOLE toolkit is up to date!
