Nebraska’s Innovation Incubator: Connect with Entrepreneurs at The Combine and Innovation Campus
Nebraska’s Innovation Incubator: Connect with Entrepreneurs at The Combine and Innovation Campus
MITA’s November meeting was a collaborative effort with the Nebraska Innovation Campus, The Combine, the Yeutter Institute, and the UNL College of Business-International Studies Program.
We convened at The Combine and embarked on a tour of the Innovation Campus, with stops in the conference center space, The Innovation Studio/Makerspace, the Food Innovation Center, and The Greenhouse Innovation Center. Kate Engel (Interim Executive Director of the Innovation Campus) shared exciting new expansion plans that are on the drawing board for the future which could triple the entire footprint of the Nebraska Innovation Campus. It is an exciting time to be a Husker!
We concluded our tour by returning to The Combine for a presentation on the companies and partners currently participating in The Combine, and heard from some of The Combine team about who they work with innovators, farmers, and ranchers to collaborate to solve real world, practical problems. We finished the event with a networking happy hour for MITA board members and members to meet and network with the energizing team of entrepreneurs and “makers” who are innovating agriculture in Nebraska like never before!
We could not have been able to pull together such a great event without the fantastic help and support of Kate Engel, Josh DeMers, Jill O’Donnell, Richard Fishler, and of course, Gloria Penas from MITA!
